I listen to roughly ten true-crime podcasts regularly, and Red Handed, hosted by Hannah and Suruthi, is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I think this podcast strikes a great balance between reporting and extemporaneous chatter. The hosts are very funny and opinionated, but stick mainly to the facts when reporting on cases. Much as I love My Favorite Murder, I feel like they’ve gone overboard with the personal conversation. I often fast-forward through at least 20 minutes of small talk to get to the crime reportage. Red Handed is well-researched, and they report on cases that aren’t covered as extensively on other podcasts, many of them British. It’s a funny, sympathetic take on true crime, and they craft their narratives well.
