Dianite was found in 1997 in exactly the same place as another Russian mineral, charoite - in the Murun Mountains in Yakutia. This stone became popular almost at once mostly because of its unique blue color, which could be of all shades of blue.πThe stone was named dianite after Princess Diana in a tribute to her.π Its structure is similar to one of nephrite (dianite is an amphibole), that is why it is often called "blue nephrite" or "Siberian blue jade". ππππππππππππππππππππ
