“Each image is created using traditional photographic techniques from start to finish, beginning with the hand-made cameras... Salt-water & sand come into contact with the photographic material, marking & degrading while at the same time becoming a physical part of the resulting photograph. The coastline is in a constant state of flux, it is pushed & pulled by elemental forces... The chaotic nature by which these images are produced mirrors the chaotic nature of the weather & tidal conditions that both destroy & construct the beaches photographed...”
