Timing. Is. Everything.

There are moments in life when this becomes crystal clear. Take this morning’s drop off. Each morning that we drop our son off at school, a line of cars (and buses) await near the intersection where the school is located. A traffic watchman corals the traffic to and from the school so that both incoming and outgoing traffic flow as smoothly as possible.

This morning something became abundantly apparent. That there’s a short period of time where an exodus of buses leave the school. And during that time, all traffic is stopped coming into the school. And the line of cars approaching the school gets longer and longer. Incoming traffic becomes stagnated for a short period of time. In actuality, it’s only a few minutes, but if you’re one of the cars waiting in line, it seems like an eternity. And depending on where you are in line, you either will make it to school on time or you will be late.

And so it is with life. There are times when taking action sooner than later, makes all the difference! Wait to get started, and you will lose precious time. Maybe others will get in line ahead of you. Or maybe (and perhaps more importantly) you will lose precious time being where you meant to be.

Being in the right place at the right time has its merits. Less stress, for one. And a whole lot of momentum comes to those who chose not to wait. Uninterrupted energy - from the moment when you know what you’re meant to do - is unstoppable! It’s like catching a wave when surfing the ocean. Ride the wave and you’re in for an exciting ride. Hesitate, and opportunity rolls right past you. Yes, other waves will come along, but THAT wave - that incredible wave that drew your attention, your enthusiasm, and your inspiration - will be gone.
