The Voices (2014)
Talk about an under looked gem. The voice is something that I discovered on Netflix and I absolutely loved. Ryan Reynolds first off, is one of the most charismatic, likable people ever. I just love watching this guy, he’s so entertaining And you instantly fall in love with every character he plays. And the tone of this film is right up his alley. When done right, or in comedy can blend in a beautiful way and this is shown to be the case in The Voices. Watching Reynolds act off a cat and a dog, played by himself, is comedy gold. The writing is great and it suits the tone beautifully and him as well. Anna Kendrick is actually pretty good in this too, and the supporting cast along with her. But Reynolds just carries this film, his performance is truly wonderful. Not a whole lot to be scared by, but some cool bloodiness. It’s just such a fun time, it’s almost rather hard to describe, like a Jennifer’s Body kind of experience. A very under looked film that I think deserves a lot more attention, I even have a feeling this may Gardner a cult following one day. Seek this one out for sure.
