As much as I enjoy seeing Open House Chicago sites around the city, it's been all these years that I hadn't really visited any around my own neighborhood. Walking around familiar streets, I was mostly distracted by autumn colors. This is the space alongside the Saint James Cathedral. Until yesterday I'd never been inside. A few years ago I saw a sign there about a great thing they do in early October: this church gives pet blessings in honor of Saint Francis Of Assisi, the Patron Saint Of Animals.
