Every season I pray for three types of friendship:
People who speak into my life:
This could be a mentor, friend or family member. I always try to give a handful of people I trust permission to call out my blind spots and speak life into my pain points.
David/Jonathan friends:
Just like in the Bible, these friends will be closest to my heart. So I protect this place and try to be wise who I let into it! Because people will ebb and flow out of my life, but the Lord knows who should be closest to me in every season. I try to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and have the courage to let go of anyone who doesn’t belong on that list. I am intentional to guard my heart here!
People I pour into:
(Even if you just met Jesus yesterday, you have something to give away.) I am generous with my testimony and encouragement in every season. (He has really been working on me with this) I ask God who I can pray over in my community, there will always be someone who needs breakthrough in an area I have victory in. .
