Honored to have been named one of @styleweekly Richmond’s #top40under40 . I both selfishly indulge in the spotlight while also being glad that I can add any modicum of visibility to the trans communities of color. I want people to see that trans people exist and not as parodies. Rather, we exist three-dimensionally and contribute to society at a higher proportion than it contributes to our livelihoods. So I hope that with more visibility, people realize that we deserve our rights to employment, housing, (higher) education, privacy and happiness. We have to better protect and amplify the voices of our marginalized communities. We just HAVE to.
