Gastromotiva was founded by our #bcwp16 finalists, David Hertz @davidhertz. @gastromotiva creates opportunities for those living in the margins of society, while also reducing food waste. In collaboration with Cargill, the Social Gastronomy Movement @social_gastronomy was established to create a global network to fight hunger, improve nutrition education, and a sustainable food system. Today, there are various hubs around the world, including New York, Berlin, Chile, Miami, Rio de Janeiro, and more, that are tackling the issues of world hunger, social inequality, and food waste. Some examples of social gastronomy happening today can be seen in Bahamas, as chefs have been preparing meals on sight and hosting benefit dinners, and through various summits going around in the world including the Nordic Summit, happening this week!
