Another sublime wine introduced to us at @braerestaurant was the intriguing and delicious @jaumawines 2018 “Peek a Boo” Grenache Pet-Nat from McLaren Vale.
The most striking thing that first grabs you about the wine is the label. If my memory serves me correct the winemaker, James, takes his kid’s art work and turns it into wine labels (correct me if I’m wrong) - it is AMAZING and unique. I want a large framed wine label from them haha
The wine itself is interesting - Jauma Peek a Boo Grenache Pet Nat is a rose' natural wine from McLaren Vale, Australia, made from 100% Grenache organic grapes in the pet-nat style. Spontaneous fermentation in neutral French barrels, unfiltered, unfined, no added sulfites. Light body rose' wine, watermelon and pomegranate on the nose, crisp acidity on the palate.
And at Brae it was served to accompany our tables Eisley approved favourite dish - the Dutch Cream Potato Cake served with Cultured Cream and Brook Trout Roe - heavenly.
