Plumeria, called Champa in India and Flor de Mayo in Mexico, is a flower with most beautiful curb appeal. Waxy petals, sweet scent, and rubbery green leaves that adorn stems that are airy and sculptural.
It seems in India, this flower takes on the Indian accent of saturated brilliance.
These flowers are from my mothers garden. Deep magenta with a maroon-ish tinge. It seems unreal and artificially perfect in a country that doesn’t keep up with appearances at all.
Rich with discovery, richer in population still, and thus abundantly rich in experiences that are mind altering and surreally real. That is India and it only grows with that personality with each child born into its fold each minute.
India is a country as ancient as time, as colorful as the most colorful vision one can have, and as entertaining and educational as the most incredible tale one can conjure. India is a country that is never dull and never wanting for its people to grab opportunities. It lives and its citizens seem to live and thrive alongside it, in tandem for the most part.
