The Haunted Mansion has a very interesting history. .
Disneyland's facade was built nearly 6 years before the ride opened. Imagine the anticipation that created! .
Even though the houses look different, most everything that was created for the Disneyland ride was made in duplicate so that Disney World's version would be up and running soon after. .
Thank "It's a Small World", "Carousel of Progress" and "Great Moments with Mr Lincoln" for how Haunted Mansion turned out. The Imagineers honed their audio animatronic skills when building the original exhibits for those rides at the 1964/65 New York World's Fair.
