Something about it caught my attention - I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of birds flying like that; and in that moment, there was that little God nudge: “why do you think they fly together like that?”.
🦅
Here’s what a quick Google told me: geese migrating like this serves two purposes. Firstly, it conserves their energy - each bird flies slightly above the bird in front of them, reducing the wind resistance for them. They take turns flying at the front, falling back when they get tired - this way, they can fly for a long time before they need to stop for a rest.
🦅
It also makes it easier to keep track of every bird in the group - they communicate, they can see when one of the group is falling behind and they look after the ones that need a rest. No bird gets lost or left behind - they’re a unit.
🦅
You can come up with all of the ways that life would be easier if you didn’t have to bother with church, but This is why we move through life as a unit: in the freedom that comes with being able to fly, they stick together - because the journey would be a lot more difficult without that team. They’re not flying alone - they protect one another from the rushing winds, and they can hide behind one another when they need the pressure to ease off a little bit. There are times when they have the strength and boldness to lead, and times when they need to drop back and rest - and that is all part of the journey. They know where each and every one of their family is, and they stop for the one who is lost.
🦅
We’re not supposed to do this life thing on our own - they journey is a lot more hard-going that way. There is beauty and freedom to be found in flying together.//

It also makes it easier to keep track of every bird in the group - they communicate, they can see when one of the group is falling behind and they look after the ones that need a rest. No bird gets lost or left behind - they’re a unit.
