There is something about suffering during a long-distance run that brings about true joy at the finish line. Since I can’t run trails or race anymore, I crave that sensation. I can’t find that happy on a treadmill—without this guy, @kipchogeeliud. 👟
After a few miles, I catch this view on my treadmill, begin to bob with the pack, and pretend that I can sustain their pacing. I forget about my underperforming heart, settle into the discomfort, and find a little happy from a different perspective. 👟
He is sub 2; I’m day 3, but I finished it this morning. Run hard. Run happy. 😜
