I’m sure most of us probably already know whether our child is a handful to manage or whether things are problematic or not when we ask for advice so, in theory, this shouldn’t be an issue when we ask for it. Right?
Although this is true to a point, for me the issue is more about the way in which the ‘advice’ is given and how we can end up feeling judged especially when it may have taken a lot of courage to confide in that person in the first place. And of course, there’s sometimes nothing worse than having your worst nightmares apparently confirmed by someone else either!
