#Onthisday in 2006, President Bush signed the Combating Autism Act into law. This act was established in order to investigate autism through research, screening, intervention and education. Whilst this act has helped to develop knowledge regarding the autism spectrum, it has received criticism. This is due to the argument that instead of looking to “cure” the disorder, methods of improving the life of those affected by it should be the government’s concern.
