Warli Painting Workshop...
Warli Painting is a tribal art of the Warli tribes, in the Thane district of Maharashtra in India. In the village this art is done mostly by the women, on the walls of their house for decoration purpose. The drawings depict the day to day activities of the tribes, festivals, celebrations and dance. First a layer of cow dung is applied on the wall followed by a layer of mud. The drawings are done on this surface with rice paste using sticks. Mostly geometric shapes are used to depict the picture.Now a days acrylic or poster colours are used instead of the rice paste as these colours are permanent.
In this workshop the Warli Art is done on paper using photo colours and acrylic paint.
