Two weeks since our feet landed in our new “burgh”... and two weeks of navigating this new town and what I thought was my new “role”. This move allowed some “freedom” with job hunting, but that freedom has frightened me with “what now? Do I just stay home with my kids? What does that look like? What do I do all day? I need to keep their schedule? Change their schedule? Enroll them in clubs, schools? Then what? Should I find a job, stay home, what do other moms do?”...what I found was that there wasn’t any freedom in all of these thoughts and in what I thought was a “role” change for me .
Today on our walk (check out these hills!!!😜⛰), God shared this with me, “this is your role, just as it has been your role all along...you are a mommy to care for Mason and Mallory”. ❤️ My role is the same, I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a daughter of the King, it does not matter where I “clock-in”, or if my days are filled with play dates or office meetings, my role is to care and parent my kiddos in the capacity I am given, and to glorify God in the midst of whatever surroundings I am in.
My freedom comes in knowing Christ and trusting Him thru this process. He has already opened doors, connections, friends, and mommy groups and my heart and cup are being filled daily.
