Just got a new album in... got it on CD back on the 90s... was one of my fav albums... this was a fresh, unopened, never played re-issue on 180 gram in perfect shape... excellence...Meshell Ndegeocello... if you like smooth, cool, funky, chill, r&b..... downtempo hiphop.. . this is a must ... she's among the founders of the neo soul movement/genre without a doubt ... this is her debut album Plantation Lullabies from 1993... with songs like Dred Loc, Steppin in the Projects, I'm Diggin You (Like an Old Soul Record), If That's Your Boyfriend (He Wasn't Last Night)... it's considered a landmark neo soul album hailed by many for so many reasons... can't recommend it enough... a female Gil Scott-Heron of the 90s... Geoff Himes reflected on the record in The Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004): "Virtually a Prince-like one-person production"...
