Well, I had a big mommy fail this afternoon. The children were so excited all day to attened our homeschoolers' teatime at the library and to see all of our friends. So, we arrived at the library, tutus and all, and quickly discovered NO ONE was there 😣 We had showed up to the WRONG library. Immediately the tears swelled up in their eyes. Ugh I felt terrible. What should I do now? There was no way I could make it in time (being 30 minutes away) Then I remembered our Saturday plans to celebrate 2 weeks of reading (we are doing the 31 day reading challenge where they get little rewards along the way). Why not just celebrate today! They have been doing so great with their reading. I reminded them of our s'more and fire celebration and told them we could celebrate a few days early💓 We snuggled our tears away in the middle of the library and went home to celebrate. We came home cozied up with our favorite blankets, started a fire, and popped some popcorn on the woodstove. Today was not how we had planned but I think it turned out even better. We will catch library teatime another day...today we snuggle and S'more.
