As we approached here, we heard a man exclaim “uppar jaana?” Which roughly translates to “Would you like to go up?” He was so ecstatic and so friendly it made it all the more hard to decline his offer . (You could tell he had been anticipating the moment to bump into someone who’d understand Hindi) But we had to politely do so, as we’d already booked an Ellis Island tour 🤧 He made our day nonetheless. We had a lovely chat!
