Happy Death Day 2U | Movie Review

Tree finds herself in a time loop of death again, except this time, things have changed. Having only enjoyed the previous film for being light-hearted and consistently funny, it wasn't that special. Also, I thought it was a plot-hole not to explain how Tree would relive the day after she was killed. Now, it feels a bit bloated and I think I'd rather just stick to not knowing. That's not to say this Death Day sequel is bad, it just bites more than it can chew. It's loaded with laughs and surprisingly good characters. The killer this time around is a bit mediocre. I'm not really interested in a third film but then again, I wasn't that interested for a sequel after seeing the other one. Sadly, for most of my recent theater experiences, this movie's trailers were constantly played before other movies and it all stuck with me. So, some of the best stuff here I had already seen.
