The weather has been warm and dry for so long..... I went up onto The Moss to wander about where the the bogs had ceased to quake and the flushes were now but a remnant seep. Lying back on the springy turf, listening to the plaintive tremolo of the curlews, the endless liquid trill of the lark arising, the lapwings shrill wheeze, and watching, overhead, the tumble and flap of their ragged black and white flight.
