When we first met, you were a scared, lonely pupper. I'm so glad you came into my life three years ago today because you've changed my life forever and I hope you know that.
You have taught me a level of patience that I’m not sure I could have ever reached if I never found you. No matter how much trouble you get yourself into, you always find yourself forgiving of my words and choose to continue loving me. You look at me like I hung the moon and I am the center of your universe and I hope you know that you are the center of mine.
Thank you for teaching me what true, unconditional love is. Thank you for comforting me when I am sad. Thank you for greeting me at the door like I’ve been gone for days even if it’s only been a few hours.
Before you I thought I knew what responsibility was; but responsibility is getting out of bed at 5am because you haven’t been outside in a few hours. Responsibility is not staying out all night because you are relying on me to come home. Responsibility is making your doctor appointments as per schedule.
I never knew you would become my best friend. You are the love of my life, and what I hold closest to my heart. You went from a scared 3 year old made of mixed parts that called out to me to my child that sleeps in my bed and never leaves my side.
