Middle photos show the tram system inside the arch. From the museum below, one enters an articulating capsule (that seats 5 people) for the ride to the top. The orbs re-orient themselves along the way up inside the semicircular structure; otherwise a rider would reach their 630 foot high destination almost upside down.
The Old Courthouse (top-right photo) is where the Dred Scott case was decided in 1857. It is widely agreed to be the worst decision ever made by the US Supreme Court and sparked the Civil War that followed 1861 to 1865.
