Odin’s Mighty Musubi is a pop up food vender who has been open since 2011. They recently started at the Queens International Night Market: a favorite food market of mine in Corona where tons of vendors open, especially Asian food vendors. Odin’s serve the famous Hawaiian snack/lunch food Musubi which is served in the convenience stores all over the islands (including 7 Eleven). Musubi is traditionally served with a slice of grilled Spam over a fresh pressed block of rice wrapper in Nori seaweed. Spam has been a food staple in Hawaii ever since the food rations of WWII. Musubi is The island version of Japanese onigiri. The meat can be switched to make other versions with chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, pork cutlet, Portuguese sausage, and char siu. Odin’s version is excellent. The deep fried kimchi version with kimchi fried rice fried katsu style was an excellent version that blends well with the sriracha mayo dip: 81. The traditional version is just as good for the less daring: rice fresh rice is the perfect compliment to the Spam with the spicy mayo bringing it all together: 80. Samantha loved it: makes any Hawaiian father proud. #musubi #spam #spammusubi #rice #nori #odinsmightymusubi #tasteslikehome #queensinternationalnightmarket #deepfriedkimchi #queensnightmarket #nycfood #nycfoodie #queens #queensfood #hawaii #hawaiianfood #ono #hawaiianfoodie
