The DeLorean may have not been the most successful invention in the car business due to its disappointing power and performance, but it has forever cemented its status in science fiction pop culture thanks to its usage in the Back to the Future movies where it served as the vehicular time machine for Marty McFly and Doc Brown. There are countless replicas of this car and I’ve seen many of them throughout my life. The first one I ever saw was a mounted DeLorean in the Niagara Falls Louis Tussauds Waxworks museum along with a wax figure of Michael J. Fox’s character. Then, during the Picture Cars section of the Universal Studio Tour in Hollywood, I saw one of 15 DeLoreans used during making for the Back to the Future movies. I’ve seen many DeLoreans in comic conventions numerous times like in Ottawa (2014, 2015 and 2016) and Toronto’s Fan Expo (2016, 2017 and 2018). I even got to see a DeLorean time machine drive down the highway when coming home from 2015’s Ottawa Comic Con. During my fourth visit to New York City in 2017, after exiting the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical theater, I saw a DeLorean replica driving down Times Square traffic stopping to allow people get their own photos taken along with a hoverboard to balance on. I’ve seen many DeLorean toys in comic book stores and shops, but one of the few I own are the Funko POP Marty McFly figure with DeLorean set, the LEGO Dimensions BTTF Level Pack and the LEGO Ideas DeLorean time machine set from 2013. Where we’re going, we don’t need roads. #backtothefuture #delorean #deloreantimemachine #moviecars #movieprops #martymcfly #docbrown #louistussaudswaxworks #niagarafalls #universalstudiotour #universalstudioshollywood #ottawacomiccon #fanexpotoronto #canadahighway #timessquare #newyorkcity #funkopop #legodimensions #legoideas #legobacktothefuture #waxfigure #toys
