Right this moment, on this incredibly beautiful evening, the perfect night for it...we would have been there.
Of all the events we're missing this year, this is one of the most painful.
We would have spent all weekend, into the wee hours of the night, singing, dancing, and thoroughly enjoying the company of our beloved ukulele community, in the middle of nowhere surrounded only by nature, laughter, and the lights off the stage.
Frisbees would be flying, lawn chairs would scatter the field, and the world's largest bonfire would crest the night.
We would be with the most accepting, kind, friendly, peaceful, free loving crowd I have ever been a part of. "Imagine" is one of the songs Brogan chose way back in February to perform tonight. Ironic.
I feel like this event would have been the ideal place to refill my cup, calm my mind, and restore my heart.
I love watching him play and although recording this in honor of UWC XII filled a bit of the void, it does not replace the 60+ other performances we would have watched tonight.
We are deeply missing you, UWC.
