GYMNOCALICIUM SPEGAZZINII - found in Northern Argentina & Bolivia between 1300 to 3600m, this spiney guy is a show-stopper! Black spines grow out of the apex (top) and curl to be flattened on the body for protection! Normally these are summer growers but this guy has been loving the unusual SoCal rain lately
