I know I say this a lot about Agatha Christie but this honestly bears repeating: woman's a literal queen. The story was so good I've no words and for the first time in my life I was able to follow along with my own detective skill set (polished by previous Christie stories no doubt) and identified the murderer before Poirot revealed it. My only complaint with the story is that there were too many characters which made it a little difficult for me to keep track.
The story follows the brutal murder of an extremely rich American heiress and the theft of her precious Ruby jewels, including a set which was allegedly worn by Catherine The Great herself. And it's the brutality of the murder which raises a lot of important questions given that the prime suspect is her estranged husband and English lord. If you can get past the three red herring and figure out the murderer before the final three or four chapters, let me know ✌🏾
I will definitely suggest this gripping murder mystery to everyone.
