Editing my triptych about Anna Piaggi made me think of other eccentrics within the realm of fashion - we have our fair and colourful share in this biz, but speaking of OTT, out-there “fashion freaks” flying the eccentricity flag high and proud, you simply can not avoid the English… and at that in particular Isabella Blow. Now, you might very well know of this lady, as during her life (in and outside of fashion!) she most definitely was a force to be reckoned with. Isabella "Issie" Blow was an English magazine editor. She was the muse of milliner Philip Treacy, and constantly wore his outlandish and fantastical, gravity defying creations (even while making toast in the morning at her country estate Hilles), however she is credited with not only discovering, but incessantly propelling and continually advocating the career of fashion designer Alexander McQueen, beginning when she bought the entirety of his explosive, premier graduate show at St. Martin’s College of Art. Living a tumultuous, exuberant and most captivating (fashion) life - do read up on her, if you do not know a whole lot; space to talk about her truly interesting character at length is unfortunately way to sparse here and this short edit doesn’t even begin to justify her merits, legacy and ultimate rather sad demise, so please read up on her - Isabella Blow succumbed to her inner demons, that had plagued her most of her life. She died by suicide in 2007. #jørgensimonsen #jorgensimonsen #jørgensimonsendesign #jorgensimonsendesign #jorgensimonsenparis #jørgensimonsenparis #inspiration #isabellablow #isabellablowfoundation #muse #pioneer #fashioneditor #stylist #icon #fashionmaverick #fashionrebel #fashionicon #fashiondoyenne #eclectic #eccentric #singular #dressup #dressedtoimpress #professionalstoryteller #style #fashion #alexandermcqueen #ott #cult #sheisthemoment
