Strong start to the season this year, got another top finish! Placed 2nd in NYKBF’s Hem-Dice-Oye event and had an absolute blast doing it!
Like the Cayuga event a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t have a ton of time to pre-fish so I went in with an open mind. Rigged up a dozen @alphaanglerfishing rods and planned to just throw everything at them until I figured something out. Turns out they liked the Jackhammer and a big spinnerbait… works for me because I like catching them like that!
I caught around 20-25 fish in the rain, mostly smallmouth but a few good largemouth in the mix. Also caught a total weirdo fish - a yellow/gold largemouth. Never seen anything like it!
