Earlier today, @disney_surgeon posted an interesting Reel about the H2O+ products in her DVC Villa at Wilderness Lodge! It has been such an interesting ride these last few months with H2O+ and I love seeing reports of what people are noticing! For my part, last time I was at Disney I also stayed at Wilderness Lodge (in a standard room) and I had both the H2O+ lotion and H2O+ bar soap. This was back in April. If you watch Nicole’s Reel, you’ll see that she only had the lotion! And just a generic bar soap. This could be a trend or it could be a fluke. We literally do not know 😂 This is what we do know about the H2O+ situation (it’s a short list):
- H2O+ announced in August of 2022 that they were retiring their brand at the end of the year.
- In December 2022 H2O+ retired.
- Disney has never addressed any of this.
Other than those three facts, everything else is experiential speculation from me! My non-expert assessment is that there is a large stockpile of H2O+ products that Disney will continue to use until they run out. After that, anything is fair game. The only two guesses that I have for who might replace H2O+ (which I don’t even necessarily think are likely) are: Basin and Geirness. Both of these guesses are based on flimsy info- Basin has been a staple at Disney for a while and a previously H2O+ display at the Contemporary now has Geirness. But we really just don’t know anything, so flimsy guesses it is. It’s also very likely that whatever products become the Disney resort line are not branded other than “Disney.”
🫧
If @waltdisneyimagineering wants ideas, I think it would be really cool to do unique scents for each resort. Just sayin.
