ATTENTION: Winnie is in heat. She was supposed to be SPAYED today!!! It’s her 1st ever heat cycle and our vet does not spay if your dog is in heat.
I should have done it sooner but I work in a school and can’t take 2 weeks off so I scheduled it for summer. When I went to schedule it, the soonest they could get her in was today… and of course she ends up in heat. Lol.
So here’s the thing… Ragnar is still a puppy but he’s growing fast. We could end up with Golden Pyrenees pups…
Winnie’s diapers have arrived so this will be one preventative measure!
What I don’t understand is why a female dog will have a period (it’s light - nothing like humans) and be fertile at the same time? Can someone explain this to me? I thought periods meant you’re not pregnant.
She’s bleeding a little, all the boy dogs in the house are trying to mount her (per her request), and her poor vulva is swollen. She seems more tired than usual. The vet said that’s typical.
Maybe ROO is making his way back this way. 😉
They said to call to reschedule her spay for 6 weeks after the end of her heat. A 1st heat can last from 7 days - 4 weeks they said! Wow! We will be booking it, but I will have to figure this out.
