Snanam Shramharanam....!!!

It's a universal truth that bathing makes us fresh and one can feel energetic after having bath. Bath is an act of purifying your body and its a continuous process of rejuvenation

I think it's there since time immemorial and described very well in detail in our old Indian literature.

In atharva veda and Garuda purana different types of bathing patterns have been mentioned.
For example kayik snan means cleansing of the body by using a wet cloth

Yogic snan is by getting the effect through yoga

Vayavya snan is a type snan in which go dhuli is used

Aagneya snan is using of Ash which aghoris do ..to cleanse their body

Varun snan is bathing in lakes and rivers.

One more clasiification of snana is the type of source of water you are using for bathing

Like koopodaka snan ( having bath using Wells water )
Nadi snan tataak snan samudra snan etc.

In birds also bathing is very evident. The most most common example is white breasted kingfisher. I have seen bathing daily in summers in bhondsi even orioles do it. IPFC bathing pattern I have seen several times in dhikala and in bhondsi and also Birds like common hoopoe and francolins etc doing sun/dust bath in aravali region.

There are many forms of bathing like mud bath oil bath aromatic bath and what not

and last but not the least is the ganga snan... we all know

If you ask me what's the best snan ?

My answer would be whatever bath you have ...if it can regularly cleanses your body as well as MIND is the best snan
