One of the most beautiful panorama mountain trails in Switzerland is Walenpfad - not just because of me saying so but actually Schweiz Tourismus and SchweizMobil singled it out as one of twelve.
You can do this hike in both directions. If you prefer some peace and quiet, choose Bannalp as ending point. If you are looking for some fun amusements at the end of the hike, Brunnihütte is a dream come true - especially for kids. The prospect of a barefoot path, picnic areas with grills, alpine slide, and big playground are definitely something that will spur them on during the steeper bits. 😉
💡 Walenpfad is usally open from mid-June until October. Do check the current status online.
