Let’s resume with the games I’ve recently beaten.
48. James "Buster" Douglas Knockout Boxing (SG) (Oct. 2, 2023)
This was also known as "Final Blow" in the arcades. And as you can clearly see, it's a boxing game. Sega took this game and slapped Buster Douglas on here.
It looks really good for an early Sega Genesis game but that's probably the kindest thing I'll say about it. Every character is pretty much the same as they all have the same moves. You can throw the usual straight punches and body blows. And then they each have a haymaker and an uppercut. That's pretty much it. And then you mash your buttons to victory!
There are only five boxers to choose from (not that it matters; they're all the same). Your boxer goes through all four boxers once so you can win the championship. And then you defend your championship against all four boxers once again. Finally, the last boss is named "Iron Head", which is definitely a nod to "Iron" Mike Tyson. Anyway, you can play better boxing games than this but then, you know me. Champion in James "Buster" Douglas KO Boxing and champion of bad games.
