Restored and renewed in 2021, the Satok Suspension Bridge in Kuching Sarawak (a.k.a) the Yellow Bridge is Malaysia’s version of the ‘Golden Gate Bridge’. The new bridge is 213m long and 3m wide and currently serves as pedestrian walk way and is colourfully lighted during the evenings, I’ve been told (missed this during my visit).

The originally bridge was built during the time of Charles Vyner Brooke (the 3rd White Rajah of Sarawak) in 1923-1926 but it collapsed in 2004. The old bridge was constructed to carry a water pipeline from the reservoir in Matang across the Sarawak River to serve Kuching. It was also then used as a roadway for pedestrians and light vehicles to travel across river.

#aboutkuching #explorekuching #discoverkuching #satokbridge #satoksuspensionbridge #imagesofmalaysia #exploremalaysia #discovermalaysia #sarawak #tourismsarawak #tourismmalaysia #cuticutimalaysia #visitsarawak #visitkuching
