Tonight’s dinner was mostly grown in our street. My lovely neighbours gifted me this lovely pumpkin (and some red cabbage) when I dropped off the sauerkraut I made with their last red cabbage. I stuffed the pumpkin with our homegrown onion, garlic and mint, and added some black rice, almonds and barberries, and some of their red cabbage. While that baked I harvested some kale, nasturtium leaves and flowers, fennel fronds, basil and cosmos flowers for the salad. And served it with some of our steamed corn. It’s a lovely feeling to use what you have in the garden, swap some produce with your neighbours and use what you find in the pantry to make a meal.
Wishing everyone a wonderful start to the week. 🧡
