Something of a novelty this WE 7.1 hi-capa "dragon". So in order for me to get this running, I requested a 3D printed carbine chassis for it.
This is a minimalist kit, printed out of full carbon fiber material. 3 main parts are the body, stock, and small optic rail. For maximum comedic value, I've acquired one of these ostentatious drum mags thus hurling this project right into the laughable end of the spectrum of equipment I've used.
Today I had about half an afternoon to zero the sights and probably tune the hop. So I learned some things while using this.
1st is I made the mistake of mounting a light sensitive Docter optic which shuts-off during low, light operation.
Next thing is the hop probably still shoots BBs into the sky however there was no way to dismantle the gun since the bottom screw holding the front muzzle weight got the head stripped. Absolutely poorly designed from the factory.
I played as best I could and although I did manage to hit a bunch of people, the feeling of doing it through spam-fire is sort of demeaning. Like it requires no skill or finesse and just volumentric BB flinging will get the job done.
This little exercise still has some tweaking to go through, most importantly the extraction of that stripped screw. But for another time I guess. I want to paint the chassis in brightly annoying colors too.
