This is the hard part they don’t tell you about. There isn’t a time when you can “clock out” of being a mom. When you’re sick, your babies still need you. When life throws you a curveball, your babies still need you. When you feel like you’re burning the candle at both ends of the stick and things won’t let up, your babies still need you. When I was a kid, I just thought my mom didn’t get sick and didn’t have hard problems. Obviously, what I know now is that good parents keep on going and continue to show up and be there for their kids despite everything else they have pulling at them in life. But I hope our generation has learned that it’s OK to seek help and a break when we need it before we feel burnt out. Whether reaching out to a family member or a dear friend to help out even for a short time while we take a little break to care for ourselves, that is good and should be normal. Because caring for yourself is also caring for your children. Our kids need a happy and healthy mom/parent and that requires intentionally scheduling little breaks for ourselves when possible to take care of us. <br />If you’re struggling, this is for you. 💗 Know that you aren’t alone. Many of us feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and spread too thin. But remember that this is a season in life that won’t last forever and that you are so much stronger than you will ever know. You grew, birthed, and are raising these beautiful babies.
