#JackCole was the creative force behind #PlasticMan, starting in 1941, and stayed on for about 15 years. Using the alias “Jake,” his humorous illustrations graced the pages of Playboy in the ‘50s. Cole’s distinctive lifestyle led him to befriend Hugh Hefner and ultimately secure his dream position at the Chicago Sun-Times in 1958. However, soon after achieving this goal, he tragically ended his life.
