2019 Western Province Stormers Jersey ⚡️
The first South African jersey to make it onto the page. This is the Stormers jersey from 2019, the last full season that we saw the South African clubs in Super Rugby.
I feel like this is the last era that we actually saw Springbok players in Super rugby squads. The Stormers had a pretty stacked squad this season with Siya Kolisi, Pieter Steph du Toit, Damian de Allende and Eben Etzebeth to name a few. They still only finished 10th.
Part of me misses the nostalgia of having the saffas in the comp, but I do not miss the crappy time zones and half the games each round being at 1am. It looks like the South Africans prefer the European comps as well. Now they can actually win some titles over there unlike when they were playing in Super Rugby!
