Before you hire an ads manager, there's a few due diligence questions you really (really) need to ask to help you identify any red flags with the person or agency you are speaking to.
Make sure you save this for later or send it to a friend who needs it!
1: Will everything be run out of my ad account? Because you should be the owner of your own assets. If your ads are being run out of your ad managers own account then technically they have you over a barrel. Because how are you going to get access to your own assets if you ever end the relationship?
2: Will I retain all campaign information and assets if the contract end? Do you know how many people I've spoken to who have told me their freelancer or agency deleted all the campaigns they set up and ran for them!
I'll be blunt this is a really 💩 practice that some people use. You've paid for the content and the data in ad fees and retainers, you should be able to keep it.
3: Will there be a weekly / monthly report? You need to know how your ads are running and what plans are in place if they aren't performing well. This is also a good reason WHY you should have some understanding of how to run ads yourself.
So you can read the data and tell if someone is talking out their rear end.
What we don't want is a situation where you've spent thousands and thousands for no leads or sales with no idea why.
Knowing how to spot any red 🚩when you are in the process of hiring an ads manager is going to save you a lot of heart ache at the end of the day.
