This section of the Mary Project started off as a collaboration shortly after Mary Magdalene’s feast day and involved a pretty substantial lift of prayers, item collecting, and sitting in my own feelings about love, devotion, and independence as a woman in male-dominant spaces.
The making of these was like a fever dream… then she slowed me down and said to wait until Easter. We have arrived. I present to you…

Inspired by the legend and life of Mary Magdalene these Marian charms and statues were created to bring the petitioner closer to her mysteries. Each one is a little different and handmade by me with intuitive magical inclusions like Mary Magdalene shrine dirt, She She’s Gentleman’s Club dirt, ruby, red ink, red jelly beans, perfume, red eggshells, red beads, and gold flakes.
