Congratulations and a Word to the Wise
Well done to every one of the filmmakers who have being selected for this year’s Carmarthen Bay Film Festival 2024.
Hopefully you have received confirmation from FilmFreeway of your selection and also an email from us, asking you to begin the process of uploading your film’s assets to our SparqFest online festival platform.
Please also follow us here on Facebook and Instagram, so that you will be able to stay up to date with the latest news, announcements and updates, as we build up to the festival itself. These will be the main places of festival information but if you need any help or have any questions you can email us at [email protected]
Finally, the official CBFF2024 laurel is now available to download from FilmFreeway and some of you have already added it to your film’s posters and online posts and notices. Which is great. However, some have also added the BAFTA and BAFTA Cymru logos as well.
A word to the wise. BAFTA do not allow any of their logos to be used without express permission from them. If your short film has a Welsh or Scottish connection, by being selected and screened at CBFF 2024, you are now eligible to enter the BAFTA Cymru or BAFTA Scotland awards and if it has a British connect, you are now one step to eligibility to enter the BAFTA Short Film Awards. For this reason, our recommendation is not to include their logo on your posters and post and you would not want to upset them.
