◾️ Hi 👋 I’m still here! ◾️
I thought I’d come on and say hi as it’s been a hot minute. For those of you who missed my stories (and there was enough of them) I’ve been on a big trip with my Mum to Singapore, Sydney, Nz north island and then to Melbourne to see family. This was the whole purpose of the trip but as we were going all that way we thought we might as well see as much as possible.
The main reason to visit Nz north island (other then it’s just a stunning country) was mum wanted to visit Napier. The art deco capital of the world. After suffering an earthquake in 1931 a lot of Napier was destroyed and had to be rebuilt, the result was what we have today, the most beautiful buildings everywhere. So beautiful they deserve a spot on my grid. Like all things time has changed them a bit with modern shops moved in etc but the main details of the buildings still exist and are just stunning. You get a crook in your neck from looking up. The number one rule when visiting. This is just a snip it of what’s there. What’s your favourite? Mine had to be the pink Tabacco building. I’d not seen it on my previous visit 20 years ago, so it was nice to discover something new.
We’ve been back a week but I hit the ground running, had work booked in the next day, not quite sure it was a good idea with jet lag n all but it’s good to be busy!
I’ve got lots of things in the background coming soon, remember the fishy plate in my stories? It made it home safely! Phew! I just need to get my finger out. Lots of plates are spinning. But for now happy Thursday.
