For the solar eclipse, we traveled up to the Wolf Mountain Nature Preserve & Sanctuary. There, we were all given a tour to visit with the wolves, foxes and coyotes. The weather was beautiful, the wolves were very curious that day ☺️ Also, some of the wolves shared a birthday with the eclipse!
Afterwards, we all gathered on the lawn with our blankets, picnics and cozy chairs; and watched the solar eclipse. The Arctic wolves, who were behind us all, looked on with curiosity.
Although it was cloudy, it was well worth it just to see the wolves and how they would react! The sky got dark, the frogs began to croak, and as the eclipse approached the wolves became very antsy. They stood up on their back legs, and tried to jump into the adjacent enclosure. Once the eclipse ended, most of the wolves broke out into a howl. Then, once they finished they were back to their normal selves.
It was a beautiful day surrounded by nature. 🐺🌙
