“Joyful Happiness” - Original Watercolor, 8.5 x 11, 2024.
What a pleasure and joy it was to meet fellow artist Bindi Desai @create__d in person after connecting, back in the summer of 2023, through another artist Cindy Tanner @cindybtanner online. Turns out that Bindi and I live nearby one another. I attended her first in-person watercolor workshop. It was on loose floral painting and I was feeling very out of my comfort zone. Painting loose doesn’t come easy for me. Thank you to Bindi @create__d and the other ladies for your compliments and encouraging me to think outside the box.
During the workshop we learned and used techniques for painting loose and spontaneous florals and landscapes, tried Bindi’s new watercolor sketchbook paper, gold paints and Kristy Rice’s watercolor brushes @kristythepainter. These were all new experiences for me.
I entitled this painting “Joyful Happiness” because of the moments of joy and happiness I found through trying something new. Don’t give up on me yet!!! Loose painting – It’s growing on me. I found it very relaxing not to have to think about all the details; freeing and spontaneous painting is full of joyful happiness, calming and therapeutic. I had a lot of fun. 🥰
