This young patient was referred to our office for Orthok for myopia control treatment
At the time of her consultation her Rx was already -3.00 at the young age of 7.
We designed a custom Orthok retainer that corrected her vision fully without the need of wearing glasses
Fast forward a year where she is still seeing clearly without glasses, but her myopia has not progressed!
We monitor myopia progression not only with refraction, but also axial length. This measurement tells us how much the eye has grown. The more eye growth, the more progression.
Fortunately, from the previous year her axial length did not progress and has been stable!
